John O' Groats to Lands End.

Jill and I are going to ride our mountain bikes from the North of the UK to the Southern tip.

We have spent the last 12 months planning a route and finding suitable B&B's en route.

We will be unsupported, so have to carry all our own gear. The route is 1143 miles long and we plan to ride for 23 days, but we will have a day off after every six days of riding.

Why? In memory of my dear Mum Patsy Marten. She died in 1990 from Cancer. We are raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

  1. Hi Ya, Great challenge, A friend has just sent me details of your JOGLE ride. I live at Carnwath so if you need some where to fix or store a bike let me know. Not sure where your route will be down through my neck of the woods. If you need some current local knowledge let me know. I normally ride a lot up at the 7 Stanes but can easily check out the local stretch. Good luck with your venture and here is to some decent weather for you.

  2. Hi Mark, day 8 Fri 12 June takes us from Aberfoyle to Carnwath. We are booked into The Robertson Arms Hotel. We may need somewhere to tinker with the bikes, so thanks. My number is 0766 100650. Can we call you if need be?
We will ride over Flanders Moss, Balgair Muir and Carron Valey Forest.
Thank you so much for your interest. I have been so busy organising things, that I have not paid much atention to the site, but now
I have vowed to keep the site updated

  3. Yes I know the Robertson, I hear that the food is good in there but not had the pleasure myself, always been late getting there.

I know what you mean about busy, Work is keeping me "very occupied", which I guess is not a bad thing, so sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Friday the 12th is clear at my end so the offer still stands if you need to do some spannering. I don't make a habbit of putting numbers etc on line but can get in touch later.
    Cheers

  4. Hi Sunshine,

It looks like we have some friends that will be staying at the Robertson soon. They will be coming up for a ride at the end of the month. So I will be able to tell you more about the Robertson when they go. Mind you I guess so long as the bed is comfy and the shower warm Jill and yourself will be happy.

    Cheers

    Mark
